Tavarius Jackson
Founder / Executive Director
Tavarius Jackson (TJ) was just like any other child growing up in Delray Beach, FL area, playing sports with his friends. He possessed abilities which made him a standout player throughout his high school days at Olympic Heights Community High School in Boca Raton, FL. By his senior year, TJ was recruited by the top college football programs in the country.
He always dreamed of playing college football at the University of Florida. The childhood dream was imminent when he was offered a scholarship to play football at Florida with the stipulation of passing the college entrance exam (SAT or ACT). TJ struggled to pass the entrance exam within the deadline required for accepting the scholarship to the University Florida. He eventually passed the college entrance exam later accepting a scholarship to play football at Virginia Tech University. His collegiate experience culminated with a successful playing career and graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Residential Property Management. After college, TJ signed as a Free Agent to play professional football for the Dallas Cowboys in 2003.
During his summer visits, he noticed many of the neighborhood kids shared the same experience- They excelled in athletics and struggled in maintaining the academic standards required to attend college. There was little academic guidance or a formal structure available to prepare kids for passing the college preparatory classes. TJ wanted to address this need in his community, thus the creation of Prep and Sports, Inc. in 2005.
He continues to oversee the daily operations of the Prep and Sports, Inc. organization. He continues his untiring quest to help the underserved youths of Palm Beach County to help them realize their dreams and aspirations.
